Food 02-26-09

Ok, here's my food for 2-26-09
Breakfast: This plate once held an egg sandwich. 2 eggs, 2 pieces whole wheat toast, 2 sliced provolone, and 1 tbsp mayo. Not the healthiest, but definately comforting to my headache. A while later I ate leftovers from the Shrimp Cobb salad. It was just ok, definately something I would not eat as leftovers again.
Followed by a handful of Smarties.


Midafternoon starving so I had 2 veggie burgers with one slice of provolone.

then a few chocolate covered raisins.





And then I wasn't hungry all night, so around the time of The Office I had a piece of whole wheat toast with butter and strawberry jelly.

Wednesday 2-25-09

Breaky was the usual:
Snack time was a V8, goldfish, and dried plums

Lunch was leftover salmon, cucumber salad and rice Dinner was a shrimp cobb salad (lettuce, shrimp, olives, blue cheese, green onions)

Dessert. Shook it up at the grocery store and got the Sugar Free Jello Rice Pudding. Surprisingly tasty for 70 calories!

Challenge, GO!

Ok, today is the first day of Krissie's Food Picture Challenge! This means you're going to be seeing every weird thing that goes into my mouth, including the one gummy candy I'll have every once in a while.
Now, I have a pretty big decision to make. Do I do individual posts for each meal of the day, or wait until the end of the day to post them all on one big post? I've done both, which one do you all prefer to look at?

Tuesday 2-24-09












Today was filled with a bunch of totally random food:


The usual for breakfast:






Followed by baby carrots and plums for snacks.


I left early from work for an eye appointment so my lunch was all screwed up so I just grabbed a V8 and some goldfish when I got hungry.




There was a piece of banana cream pie in this area that I didn't whip out my camera and snap. So use your imagination for a piece of pie that was a HUGE WASTE OF CALORIES.



Got home and ate 2 pieces of provolone and this yummy yum yummo dinner:
Its a cup of rice, a salmon filet, and a cucumber salad a shallot vinegarette. SO GOOD

Dinner 2-23-09



Tonight I was totally craving a salad so I came home and whipped this up:






Lettuce, grilled chicken, kalamata olives, and bleu cheese. Yummy! So good that I had 2 bowls.

Weekend wrap up

Well...I was Ms. Lazy Pants about taking picture this weekend. Here are the few I have:
Saturday:

Breakfast was Denny's grand slam, 2 eggs, hashbrowns, 2 sausages, and 2 pancakes.

This isn't what I actually ate last night, but my phone was dead so this was pretty much the closest I could find. Substitute honey oat bread for the oregano parmesean, and we're in business. Also there was a bowl of ice cream.

Lunch and Snacks 2-18-09




For snack time today I got two of my fruit/veggie servings out of the way. 15 Baby carrots (you'll be seeing a lot of these) and 5 dried plums.



















Lunch was nothing too exciting. My leftover sushi from last night and a Diet Coke.


It looks like I'm totally starving myself with that sad little picture of sushi. But that's because I'm lazy and left it on th giant tray that it came in. There are 7 good sized pieces on there and I am more than satisfied.

Breakfast 2-18-09

Good morning! Here's my nummer breakfast:

Coffee with milk, a Cameo Apple, and blueberry light yogurt. Good stuff.

Adobo Recipe

Per the request of Stephanie here is the recipe for Adobo:

1-2 pounds of pork (I usually use leftovers from a pork loin roast dinner, but chops work well too)
2-3 cloves garlic minced
2 bay leaves
soy sauce
vinegar (I use white but any will work)

Saute meat in pan with garlic on low heat enough to get the fat rendered a little. Add 1 part soy sauce to 2 parts vinegar to make it as saucy as you want it, add bay leaves, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until sauce reduces a little. Serve over rice.

If you're starting with raw meat, boil it in the sauce, saute it after its fully cooked and add back to sauce.

Dinner 2-17-09



The plan for a salad tonight went awry when I was at Costco. I bought all of the veggies on my list and saw this in the cold food section:




So I had 8 pieces of that, 3 chips and some of that 7 layer dip chilling in the background (stolen from the roommate while she was peeing) and this for desert:



A sugar free pudding cup and lite whipped cream, otherwise known as Gods Gift to Dieting.

There you have it: pork adobo with brown rice and a Diet Coke. Now I want a nap.

Yep, that's a cup of coffee with milk and 2 packets of splenda and 55 goldfish crackers. 55 goldfish is one serving. They're the best!
